Staying at a hotel while on vacation or holiday can be an uninteresting and unexciting experience when dealing with the typical check-in process, drab room décor, and room service. Most of the time, your adventure is outside of the room, and you use your hotel room for just sleeping. However, there are some hotels that make staying in one of their rooms, an adventure and vacation in itself.
1. Giraffe Manor
The Giraffe Manor, located in Nairobi, Kenya, is a giraffe lover’s paradise. Giraffes are free to roam everywhere on the grounds of the manor, and interact with guests daily. They can be seen from your window, or even at the front door of the manor. Don’t leave your food on a table anywhere near a window. A giraffe may just poke their head through your window, and snatch it.
2. Beckham Creek Cave Lodge
Situated on 280 acres in Parthenon, Arkansas, the Beckham Creek Cave Lodge is an actual cave dwelling. Each room has natural cave walls and exquisite furnishings. You will have the best of both worlds, while being surrounded by nature, but with the amenities of most modern hotels.
3. Hotel Kakslauttanen and Igloo Village
Located in Finland, the Hotel Kakslauttanen and Igloo Village will make guests forget that it’s 30 below zero outside. Each guest igloo is made from special thermal glass and is kept at a comfortable room temperature. During the winter months, guests are not only treated to phenomenal views of the night sky, but also have front seat views of the Aurora Borealis.
4. WagonStays Luxury Escape
Guests will step back in time and relish in the history of frontier life at the WagonStays Luxury Escape, located in New Zealand. The covered wagons have a rustic feel, but with a dash of luxury. There is a cooking stove right in your wagon, as well as an outdoor stove to have your own personal cookout.
5. The Liberty Hotel
The Boston hotel is a luxury accommodation with a twist. It used to be a jail. It has kept most of the original framework and bars on the windows for that special jailhouse touch.
